Telescopes

Trent sizes up the 18.5" Alvin Clark at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago.

I was getting restless. Not even taking a look through a telescope in almost 5 years. Something had to give. After selling off almost everything including my only mount, my 130 GT sat it the case all this time and needed to capture some photons! Picked up a budget mount, the iOptron GEM28. I am looking forward to being under the night sky in 2022.

My number came up and he was able to purchase a new Astro-Phyics 130 EDF Gran Turismo!

Below are the mounts and scopes we historically owned and used

I was suffering from aperture fever and found an 8" TEC MC200/15.5 Mak Cass to help alleviate the problem.

The Astro-Phyics 130 and TEC MakCas mounted side by side. This eliminated the need for 1 18 lb counterweight and puts less stress on the Mach1 GTO then the previous stacked arrangement.
